Temporary Migration and Development
This study will undertake a review of the existing literature and evidence on international migration and development, and the temporary movement of persons under the general Agreement of Trade in services (GATS) framework and its effect on development and poverty reduction in low income developing countries. The study will also review the positive and negative aspects of migration and the relationships between the types of migrant workers and remittances received by the home country. The aim of this review is to highlight the relevant issues concerning migration for promoting development and tacking poverty.
