Is it possible to change someone’s mind about migrating? Can we prevent migration by tackling the ‘root causes’ of migration, or by providing services and jobs in origin and transit countries?
Our research generates understanding of how refugees and migrants make decisions, with a particular focus on the role that policies play in shaping those decisions. These policies range from those explicitly tackling migration, to the broader policy environment, including labour policies, basic services and social protection.
