Green growth: small and medium enterprise development - Egypt
This project will produce a research paper expolring green growth in Egypt. Commissioned by BMZ and GIZ, this study aims to support the Egypt Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade (MTI) and the Egyptian-German Private Sector Development Programme (PSDP)to further substantiate the idea of green growth for the Egyptian context.
The focus of the PSDP's work in Egypt lies on enhancing competitiveness of the private sector, particular of small and medium enterprises (SME), by encouraging innovation and improving resource efficiency. The promotion of SME and innovations is a issue high on MTI's agenda, especially with regard to the local manufacturing industry. MTI's overarching goal is to generate sustainable economic growth, as well as to create inclusive jobs.
