In 2006 DFID’s Development Committee set out a Fragile States Policy Implementation Plan to ensure that DFID and their partners would be equipped to reduce poverty in fragile states and address the causes of state fragility. To asses progress against one aspect of this plan, this project carried out a light touch, desk based review, to draw together information on the extent to which DFID country programmes are carrying out analysis of fragility issues through existing tools.  The countries studied will be Zambia, Tanzania, S Africa, Uganda, China, Bangladesh, DRC, Nigeria, Cambodia, Afghanistan and Sudan.
