Working with the Government of Tanzania, World Bank. UNICEF and World Food Programme, ODI has been commissioned to contribute to the design and appraisal of the Government's proposed Productive Safety Net Programme (PSNP).

Activities include, providing advice and inputs to the Government for the design of the PSNP, specifically focusing on the design of the public works programme and cash transfers component of the PSNP, and reviewing and appraising the Government's propsoed programme document for the PSNP; advising on the implementation arrangements between national and local government levels with regards to community targeting, delivery of cash transfers, criteria for public works activities, payment arrangements, and registration of beneficaries, economic appraisal of the programme and monitoring and evaluation.
