This project provides an overview of the present state of knowledge and discussion, and identify and present existing evidence of the link between social protection and social cohesion.

The study will give an overview of the existing national and international literature and the relevant conceptual approaches, and detail the contributions made by social protection to reducing fragility and strengthening state legitimacy, by means of existing (country) examples and others.
