An overview of debates in the UK, France, Germany and the European Union concerning aid policy to Africa
The research aims to draw out implications for Japan of the current policy debates on aid policy to Africa. These debates are of particular significance as the G8 Summit to be held in the UK in July has African development as a key focus. The results of the research will be discussed in a one-day workshop to be held in London at the end of March 2005. Senior Japanese researchers will attend this event which will focus on drawing out concrete recommendations for Japanese aid to Africa.
