Helen is an experienced executive leader, non-executive director and advisor, with a 35-year international career in the humanitarian sector, in global public health and in sustainable investing. Most of Helen’s career has been with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). As a member of the ICRC’s Executive Board (‘Directorate’) with specific responsibility for finance, fundraising and logistics, an important focus of her work was managing financial and reputational risks in an ever-changing and highly volatile environment.

Helen holds non-executive board and advisory roles at Legal Action Worldwide, Humanitarian Finance Forum, Capital As A Force For Good Initiative and Geneva University’s Executive Programme in Strategic Philanthropy. Helen holds memberships to Women on Boards and Global Thinkers Forum. She is also a Senior Research Associate at ODI. Previously Helen held executive roles at the International Committee of the Red Cross as Head of ICRC Delegation to the United Kingdom and Ireland, and as Member of the Directorate and Director of Financial Resources & Logistics as well as at the World Heart Federation as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Development.
