Matching finance to need
This event was organised by the World Economic Forum as part of their Annual Meeting in Davos.
Description
Up to 80% of the world’s extreme poor will be living in fragile and conflict-affected environments by 2030. Progress in such places will depend on scaled up international assistance with a focus on conflict prevention and concessional financing.
This interactive dialogue examines ways the international community can better deploy public finance and concessional flows to mobilise private capital and rebuild trust between the Global North and South.
On the agenda:
- How to deliver on the World Bank’s call for a record replenishment of the International Development Association and other concessional mechanisms.
- Mobilise more public and private finance for areas affected by conflict.
- Strategies for partnership, risk management, sourcing and verification of bankable projects in complex environments.
